Since the end of June 2020, players have been using the new brand hall of the National Table Tennis training centre in Havířov under strict hygienic conditions. Representatives of the city, the region, the Ministry of Youth Sports and Physical Education and, of course, the president of the Czech Table Tennis Association (ČAST) were invited to the official grand opening.
The sports hall was built on green field. It is the largest specialized table tennis hall in the Czech Republic. “I dare say that not only in the Czech Republic. With its parameters, it is one of the five largest and most modern sports facilities for national table tennis centres in Europe, ”said Nikolas Endal, 1st Vice-president of the Czech TTA, after the ribbon-cutting ceremony. He thanked the representatives of the city and the region for their support and expressed his belief that a modern sports ground will help the further development of players. The ceremony was also attended by the president of the Czech Table Tennis Association Zbyněk Špaček, the governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region Ivo Vondrák, the mayor of the city of Havířov Josef Bělica.
